D6 Ministry

D6 stands for Deuteronomy 6:5-7which commands dads and moms to take everyday opportunities to impress God’sWord upon the hearts of their children. D6 is foundational to raising spiritual champions for Christ.Unfortunately, many people rely on the pastor, Sunday school teacher, or youth pastor to be the primary spiritual influence for our kids. The problem is we only spend, at most, four hours a week at church. What about the other 164 hours?

We must be active in passing our faith along to our kids. It’s clear from D6 that, while church is a vital part of this development, it cannot stop there. It must continue in the home. This Fall we are going to focus on the D6 family ministry.  This is going to help you find creative ways to interact with your children to transfer your faith in Christ to them.Watch for more information to come!

Volunteer Opportunities!

We are looking for families to support and be a part of planning events for Family Ministry.  This is a rewarding opportunity to serve our church, build valuable relationships with other families and stay involved in your child's journey in becoming a lifelong disciple of Jesus Christ. This would be a commitment to help with just one event per year.  After that you can help out as much or as little as your schedule allows.  We cannot keep having events without the help and support of volunteers. FOCUS ON MARRIAGE: Encore Presentation

Last spring we hosted the “Focus on Marriage Conference” at our church and now we are able to present it again.  Each week we will get to watch one of the speakers from the conference and have fellowship time after.  This will start on Wednesday September 15 and run 7 weeks.  While you enjoy the conference your children can join JC’s Clubhouse.  Nursery care is also available for younger children.  So whether you want to see it again or missed it last spring, here is your chance.  The cost for this event is free, but ask that you email Lisa Hanson at lhanson@atonementfargo.org  to sign-up.
